its didnt ask the identity for FB6 it was a catalyst and a reducing agent

but i tested fb 3 with lime water and it didnt return milky! but there was definitely a gas.
the volume i got was 30 cm3 and the temp was around 12.

and didnt fb 3 produce a white ppt with Pb 2+ ? does carbonate do that?

but you just ahv to check the probable one.and den remove the unwanted one...however..jus wanted to ask,in d chemical identification of fb6.which one was catalyst and which reucing agent?? den wht anion did u wrote for fb3?

I got following anions
FA3: Chloride (As it gave white ppt with Pb2+; It also gave white ppt with AgNo3 which was soluble in NH3)
FA4: Chromate
FA5: Bromide

And I think FA6 was Manganate that acted as oxidising agent when added to H202

I wrote FA3 as chloride too, but most of everyone say it was carbonate.
It didn't give the lime water test for me too. Tried twice.
Maybe we should have heated it ?? :%)

you dont get effervescence with chloride neither! lol guys jst got the info it varies depending on centre both answers are correct!

FA6 was a reducing agent as H2O2 is an oxidising agent itself. But for the second part I wrote oxidising agent because the green solution was oxidized to red solution. I don't know what I did. Shoot.

However, I confirmed it as a chloride by using AgNO3 and NH3 and it tested positive :twisted: May be both anions were present as there was efferveresence!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
