the number of seeds germinated divided by the total number times 100
then i subtracted the 2 answers to get the % increase.
im rly not sure of tht calculation....

actually u had to do one more calculation they mentioned in bold same no. of seeds while the readings in the table Dish B was total 20 seeds but dish C was only 10 so u had to double and following that ur working is correct

he asked percentage increase of germinated seeds which is 900
subtract that from original (100) to get 800

or if u use your way it woild be 16/2 *100
not 16/20 *100

wefind percentage increase as a % of total so it wll be [[18-2]/20]*100=80%

ASTAR I think you are right I wrote 900% because i wasn't thinking properly

bec. in the question it said % increase from the germinating seeds [so it is /2]

well, i wrote that more seeds germinated because there are less seeds in dish c , therefore less competition for water
and for the percentage i wrote 900%

because if u make (900/100)*2 the answer will be 18, u can get it by cross multiplication

I made the same mistake bro unfirtunately, it's 800% beacause we're supposed to take 2 away from 18 because we're calculating an increase.

So its (18-2)/2*100 = 16/2*100 = 800%
