to how many significant fig do we have to write the answers in?? :%)
For paper 1, the answers you will obtain will be exact and you just need to quote that exact value in the answer space. For paper 2, non-exact numerical answers must be rounded of to 3 significant figures e.g. 0.0395 m^3, angles obtained from trigonometry have to be expressed up to 1 decimal place e.g. 125.7* and money answers are to expressed to two decimal places e.g. $65.35. :)

Thanks guys :) one more thing please- do we have to write the answer in decimals, fractions or what. How do we know which form is the best way to write the answer? :unknown:

Unless the question mentions which form you have to write your answers in, you can write in any form!

you should write the answers in fraction coz you will face difficulty in the sig figures if you will write in decimals

Hey can someone plz help me with the last question i.e Q24 :)

http://www.xtremepapers.me/CIE/Cambridg ... 2_qp_1.pdf
AoA!
Q24) (a) (i) Observe that the pyramid has a triangular base.
=> Base area = (1/2 x 5 x 5) = 12.5 cm^2.
=> Volume of pyramid = 1/3 x 12.5 x 5 = 20, 5/6 am^3 (as in 20 whole 5/6).

(b) Volume of prism = base area x height
= (1/2 x 5 x 5) x 10
= 125 cm^3.
Volume of cube= 10^3 =1000 cm^3.
Therefore, the remaining volume = (1000- 125) = 875 cm ^3.

for question 21 part a) i) you can see by looking at the equation that the gradient is 2
ii) You find the point of intersection of the line and the curve for which the x coordinate is more than zero which in this case is 2.6 or 2.7

b) compare y=ka^x with y=2^x.
for part i) you need to find k and so you need to remove a so you substitute the cordinates in which the value of x is zero. i.e (0,0.5). so 0.5=ka^0. hence k=0.5.
ii) you have k so you take any other coordinates which lie on the curve and substitute them in the equation to get the value of a. eg (1,1.5). so 1.5=0.5a^1. Hence the value of a is 3.

I know i am not good at explaining but i hoped this helped

for Q 24
You need to draw a diagram from the given information which wont be a problem. From the diagram, tan30=height/50.
so using the info given, 0.577=h/50, so h=28.85. therefore the height of the tree will be 1.8+28.85=30.65.
is the answer correct??
