The links are broken, this is the working link:http://www.xtremepapers.me/CIE/Cambridge O Levels/4024 - Mathematics/4024_w03_er.pdf and http://www.xtremepapers.me/CIE/Cambridge O Levels/4024 - Mathematics/4024_w03_qp_2.pdf :)

This is a question of frequency density. basically, freq/class width(i.e for 40<v<50 class width it will be 50-40=10) for each class will give you a range of values for which you have to draw a bar graph. Whenever class widths are NOT uniform, we use freq. density.

The highest bar will be your modal class.

1) 40<v<50 has freq=14
2) 50<v<55 has freq=10

1) 14/10 = 1.4
2) 10/5 = 2

Thus, 2 is the answer. you would still need to check freq. density of all the classes to say for sure this is the highest.
