I'm new here.
Can someone please tell me the requirements of the islamiyat paper questions.. the 10 mark one and the 4 mark one? I mean, is it possible to get 10/10 and if yes, then how? and same for the 4 mark one?

Should i like practice the past papers by writing all the answers down? or just orally? I already have a good writing speed.. and i can write down the details in time, although i have never practiced past papers... only done the exams in school! So is the practicing past papers thing really necessary? HELP!? :/

Yes, it is posible to get 10/10 and similiarly 4/4 in islamiyat, but for that you have to follow some conditions. For e.g if the 10 mark qs. is about Al-Isra Al-Mairaj then you need to give every detail of that event
Also you need to mention the names of Prophets on differnt skies and the boundaries which angel Jibrail couldnot cross. It wil not score you 10 marks, for that you need to mention verses of the Quran and Hadith related to that event then you will be able to get full marks.
For the 4 marks qs. again references from Quran and Hadith have to mentioned which are a boost to your answer. But, in order to score 4 marks you need to fulfill the requirements of the qs. which is asked.

Having a good writing speed is great :) but you need to make use that it is neat and understandable for the examiner as this time the papers wil be scanned to CIE. You should practice pastpapers as they help you in getting better knowledge on what kind of qs are there. Suppose, if any of the qs. you have practiced is tested in CIE then it is a benefit for you and you could easily score 12 or 13 marks out of 14.

Thankyou!

And i have a few more questions.

I have many books of Islamiyat by many different authors of O LEVELS! Im confused on which one to follow. In order to ensure that i know all the IMPORTANT details required for the questions, should i stick with the Farkhanda Noor Muhammad Book? Or Try Some other book?
And whats the method of preparation? Just SIMPLE READING of the book? I mean, thats it? Read it again and again? I think, that's enough to memorize the stuff? Right?

Should i learn the answers from the REDSPOT YEARLY Islamiyat Book? If Not, then where can i find the complete answers to those past paper questions. I need to know the pattern of answering questions.

How should i prepare the caliphs? There are no quotes related to caliphs. How are we supposed to get 10/10 in the caliph questions? And the battles of h.umar and all those campaigns... How much knowledge is required? Just the names of the battles or what happened in every single one of them? Draper book is brief abt caliphs i think...

Like only the year? Like battle of yamama was in 633 AD! The exact date is not mentioned anywhere...

You can get 10/10 and 4/4 for perfect answers.
Its good to practice past papers by writing but I suggest doing that only for the puzzling and tricky ones...I mean the straight forward questions like describing battles or an article of faith will be ok if just done orally. Tricky ones such as expansion of empire under Hazrat Umar, and difficulties faced by muslims in makkah are better to be written down so that you get an idea :) Yes it is important to practice with past papers!!!

For the battles in the caliphs, For Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Abu Bakr, only remember the date, name of the battles, who won and lost, and who was involved. Its better not to memorise the details of the battles except for why they were fought. . Important one is the Jerusalem. Same is with Hazrat Abu Bakr. There has been no question regarding the battles, however there has been a question about the expansion of the empire under Hazrat Umar, so you have to give references to the battles (but not describing their events and making them the main focus). The only important battles in the caliphs are the battles of Siffin and Camel in the caliphate of Hazrat Ali (I am telling you what my Islamiat teacher told me and she is a competent and experienced teacher)

For the books, Mustafa Draper is good as it is by the examiner and you can consult Yasmin Malik too. Both are good with minor differences in them.
For preparing go through the books which you have and try to do timed practice of past papers. I'm pretty sure it will benfit you.

You're right there are no references for battles in Caliph's time. You should know briefly about the battle:
When? Where? Leaders of both sides? Who won?
Also a little bit what happened in that certain battle.

Like Deadly Orchid said only Battle of Siffin and Camel are important bcuz there is a 10 marks qs. on either of them

For getting 10/10 on battles you just need to describe the battle fully in detail as you an if its from the Caliphate of Hz.Ali
For Hz.AbuBakr they mostly ask "How was he able to counter the problems of false prophets" or sometimes there is a question on his whole Khilafa. You just need to briefly tell about the battles if you are talking about whole of Hz.AbuBakr's Khilafa
The same goes for Hz.Umar's Caliphate too.

do O Level examiners check papers as strictly as our Islamic sirs do? Do they actually give 10/10 in an (a) part question? If they do , then can you give some tips on how?

The checking of O Level Examiners differs from ours teachers/sirs. The important thing is that your answer must contain keywords that brag the attention of examiners.
For scoring 10/10 on part (a) question you must read the messages posted in this thread :)

but our Islamiyat sir performs extreme marking. Can you please give any comments on the following event which happened with me during the mocks. Accordingly in paper 1 in the second question there was a question that :How are Ijma and Qiyas derived from Islamic Law (jurispendance). The sir gave us a hint saying that we should mention examples of Ijam and Qiyas. For Ijma, I gave the example of Battle of Uhud as well as during the Treaty of HUdaibiyah when the Prophet (S.A.W) asked his companions about whether to fight . FOr the Caliphate Period I gave the example of the election of Au Bakr's election and the compilation of the Quran, as well as the Second azan for the Juma prayer and the Taraweeh prayers. For Qiyas i gave the example of intoxicants, The wuzu example of Aisha (R.A) about nailpolish, about appoinment of guardian over lunatic, sales transactions during Friday Prayers, about the example of man coming to Prophet (S.A.W) about his father had the means to perform Pilgrimage but did not do so... I mentioned more than 4 quotations to support my answer but he only gave me 6/10. Another student gave 1 example of each and he too got 6/10. When I asked the sir he at first told me that no Ijma took place during Prophet (S.A.W)'s lifetime but it took place during Caliphate. When I showed him that i gave examples of Ijma during Caliphate, he read it and then told me that it did not take place during Caliphate Period. When I asked him when did it take place then he said about scholors. I went furious. He then averted the topic by telling me that he would check it again later. Then another question about Why did the Prophet's relations change with the Jews? I gave an entire account of the exile of the the Jewish tribes but gave a separate paragraph for reasons in the end. In the paper, he put a tick on everything but wrote in the end reasons and gave me a 7/10. When I indicated to him where I wrote the reasons, he read it and said that I should have written the reasons along with the other paragraphs. Again he averted the topic by saying that I should go see somebody else's paper. I got an A and A* in both the pre mocks and every class test, and I was really depressed with the marking of this paper. Is it just that he has checked the paper with negative marking or is it that I need improvement. Please do respond.

WHAAAAAAATTTT!!!!!!!!
All the examples of Ijma and Qiyas which you mentioned in the paper were correct. I don't know what was he up to when he was telling you that there was no Ijma during Prophet's time.

One thing I would make you clear is that there is no negative marking for Islamiyat, but still i am unable to understand why he gave you so much lower marks.

he is right ijma can never take place between the lifetime of holyprophet because he himself was present and can give better rulings than any of his companions so any matter ll be discussed with him and companions couldnot setup their own community to decide the issue
they ll only consult prophet
and btw the defination of ijma is the unanimous descision of muslim ummah on religious matter after the demise of prophet(saw)

But in Mustafa Draper's book it is mentioned that Prophet conducted Ijma during his lifetime

in his lifetime ijma meant he consulted the sahabas on some matters such as the battle of trench
so there WAS ijma in his lifetime too
