Photography..IS IT HARAM????

ASSALAM-U-ALAIKUM..
I am creating this thread in response to some of the fatwas i came across on net,,they say that Photography is haram in Islam..taking pix with ur mobile camera etc..or making vids is haram...
SERIOUSLY..cuz i take alot of pix..nd vidz..shd i stop it..here r some fatwas,,

Taking photos of humans is considered haram, just like drawing pictures and all...but there was also a fatwa..umm..i think brother badrobot14 had posted it somewhere about taking videos...i don't remember but i do know i had read it here on XPC...

Wait...from the Islamic fatwas you've posted..i think it is haram..i mean it clearly says that pictures of any animated objects is haram..so to remain on the safe side, we must refrain from any such acts...don't you think?

But you know what my question is? The fatwas all talk about snapping a photograph and hanging it on walls...my question is: What if we snap the photographs and keep them hidden underneath a cover or something... i mean, so many of the world-reknowned scholars have their videos taken when they are lecturing...i'm just as confused as you, brother...

but again, i would recommend to refrain from it because the Prophet (PBUH) said that if we're in doubt about something, we must leave it...right?

They record stuff.
Does that mean all that is Haram too? :S

At the time of the Holy Prophet's(pbuh) Life, there were no camera's.. no video recording devices or anything!
So now the world has taken a turn. Technology has revolutionized the way we live!
Are Muslims supposed to stay away from all that technology?
Every Phone has a camera in it.
