Hello all! someone there to help me out bwt these qstns??? they're bwt emf induction chap!

nov 03..q5,biii..i dont get the answer!!

jun 04..q5..ci and dii....how do u find out rms from that graph???

nov 04..q4..d..why do you increase the speed to maintain the rate of change of flux????:S

jun05..q6..b(i+ii+iii), dont know the graph:S

n05..q5..ii..1, dont we consider the magnitude of deflection as a "radius"??

jun 06..q6..c,,explain plz!!!

nov 07..q6..bii..how???

jun 08..q6..bi..how did u find out the force?? formula???

wud be thankful if someone cud explain in detail...thnks in advance! :)

Nov 03 : In b) iii) what do you have to find ?!?

June04: c)i) Power dissipated by direct current = I^2 x R where I is the maximum p.d

Power dissipated by alternating current = I(rms) ^2 x R = (I/√2)^2 x R ... since u know I(rms) = I /√2 (in alternating current I(rms) is always used)

Divide the two expressions and you get your answer.

dii) It is root mean square current... and for a square wave, I(rms) = maximum current!!!

Nov04: The coil is being moved away from the magnet, rate of change of magnetic flux reduces... to maintain constant pd, the coil must be moved faster to increase the pd to the previous constant value... and you know a general rule, that moving the coil faster will increase the p.d ...

June05: that's a bit conceptual, you need to see a number of formulas from accessible physics and understand the phase difference thingy ...

Nov05: Yes we do... so decreasing the p.d will decrease the velocity of electron and hence the radius of deflection will decrease...

Nov07: F/I L = 2x 10^-7 I /x the question says that each loop is considered as a straight wire, so L in the equation corresponds to the circumference or the total length of a loop ... and x is the perpendicular distance b/w the two wires/loops... hope u can solve that now...

June08: torque = r x F

Hope that helps :)
