A frequency of 0.5Hz means the time period is, T=1/F, T =1/0.5, T=2s. Since there is 1.5 waves shown on the screen time taken is = 1.5x 2 (period) = 3s

its correct but whats the method?

The simple and effective definition is:EMF is realted to nonelectric energy changing to electric energy (e.g. voltage of a battery)
P.D. is realted to electrical energy converted to nonelectric energy.
hope that helped.
btw in O levels mostly u don't need to differentiate b/w the two bcuz they use a cmbined word (VOLTAGE) for the both of them.
It says that 0.5 Hz is the frequency. So you first need to find the time period which is f=1/T. In this case u have frequency so time period will be T=1/0.5. ans would be 2sec. By looking at the graph, one and a half wave is produced so for one wave, u get 2 secs and for half, its 1 sec. So the answer would be 2+1=3secs. Confusing!i guess its 6s

image height/object heightwhat is linear magnification?
thankuimage height/object height
OR
image distance/object distance
linear mag = image height / object height[/quote
thanks
what i wrote was pretty much the same but stilll thanks. The simple and effective definition is:
EMF: The amount of energy converted to electric enerygy from other forms per unit charge.
Voltage/p.d: The mount of energy converted from electric energy to other forms per unit charge.
These def are not like official but they clear the doubt
1) it acts as a magnifying glass to read the temperatureHere are a few questions that i came across:
Q1- Why is the stem of a thermometer often oval in cross section?
Q2-Which of the following statements about alpha particles is not true?
A. they can be deflected by magnetic field
B. they can be deflected by electric fiel
C. they can be detected by spark counter
D. they are radioactive
(first tell me ur answer then i'll tell the correct answer )
Q3-State 2 precautions u should take wen using vernier calipers. (except zero error)
Q4-State 2 precautions u shud take wen using a micrometer screw guage (except zero error)
Please answer asap!!

alpha particles are deflected by electric fields.1) it acts as a magnifying glass to read the temperature
2)B
3) and 4)
1. i dont know, maybe , make sure it works
2.check for parallax error
* isn't this an atp question ? 3 and 4 ?
oh, damn. its D.alpha particles are deflected by electric fields.
