Statistics language to use?

Can anyone taking S1 help me with the language to use in my answers? Like for example when do I say let x be the random variable, let x be the discrete variable. I know how to answer statistics well, but IDK if the examiner would understand my answers or maybe not give me method marks. Thanks

Doesn't matter what type of language you use; if the examiner can read what you've written, then it's good enough.

I don't mean it like that. I mean for example when he asks for a probability distribution table, do I have to tell him let x= the number of bla bla and then do it? because I find myself doing very little work for 5 marks.

Form a table like

x = 1 2 3 5
P(X=x) = (Insert probabilities)

And do the working for each underneath the table like

1: 1/3 x 1/3 = 1/9

what about before binomial questions? Do I just write n= x= p= q= or do I have to go like n is equal to the total number of bla bla, and let x = number of thing that bla bla?

You have to write n is equal to the total number of blah blah, and let x = number of things that blah blah.
