    Biology Practical Worried!

The tunica intima of my artery was smooth, unlike the arteries I had studied which had curved ones. The vein though was just like I had studied. None of them were circular, but were curved inwards from the center in one side - like a twisted rubberband. Were you supposed to draw the cells in...

Poll: Which science subject do you find the hardest in as/a levels?

I love Bio, its easy to understand and follow for me. I'm moderate towards Physics, and Chemistry I used to dislike a lot... until I started understanding it. I guess I love Chem now too. o.o; But the hardest would have to be Chem.

    Chem p22

... Oh.... yeah, 600 K would be like 327 degrees C... that is pretty low in terms of industrial standards. Well, I dunno now.

    Biology Practical Worried!

I didn't get a single time over 30 - except the control. Its not the answer that matters, I think. It would vary on how old your hydrogen peroxide was. An older hydrogen peroxide at your center would mean you would get greater time, as most of it would have converted to water. Mine on the...

    Biology Practical Worried!

I guess performance-wise it doesn't matter if you got the right result. But they might penalize you for not following instructions properly; I don't know, really. If at some point in the paper you referenced that you used tissue paper instead, i.e. in the 'sources of errors/limitations' or...

    Biology Practical Worried!

Because the question in each variant is different. I did 34, and at least in that variant, we were not required to cut squares from either the back of the paper or a tissue paper. We were given a piece of filter paper. That's where we were supposed to cut the squares from.

... What variant did you do?

    Chem p22

Thanks a lot! But Sodium burns in a yellow flame in chlorine. See for yourself! ... Didn't they simply ask why high temperature, high pressure and a catalyst were used for the formation of methanol? I'm pretty sure I remember; that's what they asked. First there are a small paragraph at...

    Chem p22

By the way guys, that Enthalpy Change was -129. I remembered the whole question, so I confirmed it with my Chem sir, and even with the textbook... I drew the Hess Cycle correctly according to the book, and then resolved the question, and still got -129 as the answer. My Sir confirmed it that the...

A level Biology: Post your doubts here!

The video is about Cell Structure. Raamish asked about the fluidity of the membrane; I remembered this video and that it portrays the plasma membrane and other cell structures really well. Then I couldn't help but to add what I felt was amazing about all this. If you find it too different...

A level Biology: Post your doubts here!

The membrane is fluid; its not solid. The phospholipids and protein molecules float around (you can understand that by watching the video below). Now that you mentioned cell membranes... This is for all of us: We will show them Our Signs in the universe, and in their ownselves, until it...

    Chem p22

It was the Enthalpy Change of Reaction, but the Reaction was the Formation of CH3OH.

    Chem p22

I used the Hess Cycle and got -129... someone please confirm this. I wrote that since when Sodium is added to an alcohol, 1/2 mol of H2(g) are produced, but calculation shows that (and I did the calculation) that 1 mol of H2 gas is produced in this case; so there are 2 '-OH' groups present...

A level Biology: Post your doubts here!

Bismillah, Tawakkaltu 'alal-Allah. Tissue fluid is blood without blood cells and large proteins. Lymph is identical to tissue fluid except that its found in the lymphatic system and not in tissues. I think.

    How was Bio P34 ?!?

Were we to take two replicates for each concentration, or was one fine?

    Chem p22

It was burning in Chlorine. Its not confirmed that Sulfur burns in a blue flame in Chlorine, I'm 90% sure that Sulfur burns in a yellow flame in a chlorine atmosphere; producing a dark yellow liquid (S2Cl2). Sodium was more correct, and safer. I screwed up this question big time. I lost like...

AS Chem...Paper 34...post your doubts here...

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum What are the criteria that are to be kept in mind when drawing a graph in Chem Practicals... you know the kind of graph in which there are two lines, and they are interpolated at a point where they cut each other in an X-shape... those graphs. How do Examiners mark them...

Paper went well Al-Hamdulillah... though I screwed up in one place... and in another two I may have screwed up, I dunno yet...
