I think i may have found a mistake in the mark scheme. Question 3 on Oct/Nov 2010 Qp 12 http://www.xtremepapers.com/papers/CIE/Cambridge International A and AS Level/Mathematics (9709)/9709_w10_qp_12.pdf The mark scheme doesn't multiply the dx/dt by the power of the bracket. Link to mark...

    AS Mathematics Method marks

I'm sure you'd get the marks. You got the right answer using a correct mathematical procedure so I don't see why they wouldn't award the marks. As long as the method is somewhere from the syllabus you're good.

Yes so a sine graph looks like this: Y=sinx Y=cosx Y= tanx So for the sin graph, amplitude is 1 (unless there's some other number like in that previous question). Period is 2 pie. For cos x graph. Its pretty much same as sinx except it intercepts at 1. Same period and amplitude...

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

For Question 4: a is 6. b is 2. c is 3. Ok so how did i get those values? Using the graph. In any such equation y = a sin(bx) + c the a is the amplitude (maximum displacement from rest position) b is the period (time it takes for one complete oscillation/wave) c moves the graph up or...

sample practice essay - total words: 217, Need people to read

I think almuhannadi covered up a lot of the important aspects really well. But I'll just briefly state what i think you could do better. One tip that i find really helpful with essay writing is "Focus on the don't s first and then focus on your do's". In other words, cut out all the bad stuff...

But yeah just do as many past papers as you possibly can. Clear up doubts. Rinse and repeat. Just put in the hours and you'll be fine. That's what works for me.

Yea sure man. For AS Maths, just do as many past papers as you can. I'm assuming you've already gone through the entire course with your school/tutors. I'm also appearing for AS Maths this Oct/Nov. I appeared last year and got a B but i'm appearing for A level Maths this year. But yeah

    Students appearing in Oct/Nov 2012

I just used the As and A level Chemistry by Brian Ratcliff. This is the only book i used and it was sufficient. Also, i used a copy of the syllabus to make sure i've covered everything.

    English Literature

I'd do them seperately. It's easier. But it also depends on your ability. If you can cope with a heavy workload, then go for it.I personally wouldn't be able to cope with so much work everyday but that's just me. My grades in AS were: 3 As, 1 B and 1 Cs. Oh and i'm from New Zealand if that's...

    Students appearing in Oct/Nov 2012

Yeah sure, the best advice i've had with A Levels is "Do Past papers". It's become a bit of a cliche but seriously just do them all. Just start your PPs, if you're having trouble with a topic, get help. Then go back to the past papers and keep doing them. Try to finish them a week before your...

I didn't say you judged his ability. I was just trying to correct you on that O level English isn't as much of a prerequisite as you said.

    English Literature

With these five subject choices, you'll have to be VERY careful with your time. DO not waste time. Do not fall behind with any of the subjects. Start doing past papers early. I chose the exact same subjects in my AS so PM me if you need any help. It's definitely a good set of choices, keeps you...

    English Literature

With English, You need a bit of natural ability. Ability to analyze. I never studied O level English (I didn't do O Levels) and I managed to get an A in AS English Literature last year. So I highly doubt you need anything from O levels to apply in A level English Literature.
