    How was Chemistry P1/2

I also think the MCQ regarding pentane's boiling point was option B i.e more covalent bonds have to be broken. Since down the homologous series melting/boiling points increase -> since the number of bonds increases -> hence more heat energy is needed to break the bonds. As far as the methanol...

    How was Chemistry P1/2

Can anyone tell me the answer to that MCQ in which they had asked as to why the following organic compound's melting/boiling point is higher than the previous organic compound's one? (cant remember the names) Was it because more covalent bonds have to be broken or because the forces of...

Copper(I) Chloride or Copper(II) Chloride? Copper(I) Chloride is an insoluble salt while Copper(II) Chloride is soluble so it depends. And the salts formed could have been either Calcium Nitride or Calcium Nitrate. Both are correct.

    How was Chemistry P1/2

Wrong, that is not necessary. They did not specify which electrodes we were using. If we would have been using copper electrodes, then nothing would have been formed at the anode, not even oxygen :) hence the answer is still A, copper always forms at the cathode.

    How was Chemistry P1/2

Dont worry, your answer is correct. The question had clearly stated in which electrolysis will the lamp glow LEAST brightly. In solid lead bromide it wont even turn on :D

    How was Chemistry P1/2

The lamp MCQ's answer was liquid mercury, since the mercury never discharges at the electrodes it will cause the lamp to light up dimly. Its similar to a past paper MCQ, they just changed the approach. In p2, titration question we had to take 30cm3 as the volume since that was the amount...

In the answer for g, my previous value was coming as 10.045, so I rounded it till 3 significant figures through double correction i.e 10.045 = 10.05 = 10.1. Will it be accepted?

Now lets discuss the physics ATP.

It was not necessary to place it outside the stirrer, it could be placed inside the stirrer aswell but not TOUCHING the stirrer and as you said atleast 1/3rd immersed :) Yes the second reason is correct, another reason could be to prevent the breaking of the thermometer or contact of the...

    How was Chemistry P1/2

Its actually pretty complicated. First they compare the paper with last year's paper, if it was harder this year than last year, they set low mark boundaries for each grade, if it was easier this year than last year, then they increase the mark boundaries for each grade. e.g if last year's paper...

Now lets discuss the physics ATP.

Q1 - The student wanted to carry out the experiment per every 2 minutes as the time intervals, hence a stopwatch with accuracy of such small time intervals was not required. Or another possible reason could have been that there would be very little temperature difference at such small time...
