Mechanics M1: Post your doubt here

Its quite easy. Consider angle AP1X as α. Since angle P1XP2 = 90 so angle CP2X would be 90 - α . Now resolve forces on X vertically and find out an equation with cosα, sinα and W. And again resolve forces on X horizontally and find out an equation with cosα and sinα. Then compare those equations...

    Pure Maths 12 today........

Yeah and part iii) was also tricky I managed to solve part i) but was not able to solve part iii) due to the time limit. Both of the questions were tricky but once you get the concept of tangent and angle perpendicular both of the questions could be solved with just few lines of calculations...

    small question

Oh ! That's only my assumption but I might be loosing more marks too  . I wish the threshold would be low for this paper. And if you lost just 20 marks then you might still get a B.

    small question

It depends on how much marks you get on P1 and M1 and the threshold too. If you got C with higher marks on p1 and A with higher marks in m1 then you stand a good chance for an B and if the threshold for both the papers are low then you might be lucky to get even an A. But if your A and C are...

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Can anyone explain how to obtain the values of "a" and "b" ( I got that of c, it was quite easy). How does difference in amplitude ( 9 -3 =6 ) gives the value of "a" and 2 complete oscillations gives value of "b" as 2 ? I mean how is "a" related to amplitude and "b" to oscillations ? Question...
