    chemistry CAIE A levels

Hybridisation usually occurs around and with carbon molecules, so lets look at them. In a methane molecule, there is one carbon and 4 hydrogens. Now, we know that carbon has 4 free electrons in its valence shell. We know that the 1s shell is filled with 2 electrons. We would also expect the 2s...

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

There are several ways to tackle this kind of question. I prefer the plain probability way (as opposed to permutations). So since Mrs Brown is a front row hogger, she could sit in any of the 3 seats from 14 total i.e. 3/14 Now for Mrs Lin to sit directly behind a student, she can sit anywhere...

    Mathematics: Post your doubts here!

Can you please provide the question? Generally, if a question is asking why the gradient of a curve is never negative, you need to find the derivative of y (gradient) and you'll get an equation which can never be negative for e.g.: \((3x-2)^2,\text{ which is always}>0\)

    Integration involving Hyperbolic Functions Problem

For area of the sector \(OAP_{1} \), we can simply use \(\text{Area of a sector}=\frac{1}{2}{r^{2}}\theta \) and since \(r=a \) (from \(A \) coordinates), we have \(\text{Area of }OAP_{1}=\frac{1}{2}{a^{2}}\theta \) So, area of \(OAP_{1} \) is proportional to \(\theta \). For the area of...

    PAST EXAM QUESTION

For part (i), For the curve \(y=3 cos (2x) \), we get \(y=3 \) for \(x=0 \) and \(x=2\pi \). And since we know that the graph of \(cos (x) \) looks like, We can deduce that minima and maxima are \(y=-3,3 \) Remember its a 3 mark question so you just need an idea of how the graph would look...
