don't really remember

but i think i did 1/2 x base x height
since it was already given area is 6cm2
i did 1/2 base height to find the height
then using this height i did 1/2 base height with new given base
got 3 then.

because ..total Area was 48cmsquare
and We had to cut square of length 2 cm , meaning Area as 4cm square and so
total no. were 48 / 4

Why 12? When you draw the squares you get only 10. I dont think you just have to calculate. Because some space is left.

I also got 10 and I've drawn on the diagram itself showing that space is left.... I hope it's good...
