i need help n permutation and combination !!
Well, first, check out these links to get a brief idea about the difference between permutations and combinations.
http://www.mathsisfun.com/combinatorics/combinations-permutations.html

http://www.s-cool.co.uk/a-level/maths/probability/revise-it/permutations-and-combinations

And, then go through your textbook, or revision guide. But mostly, focus on past papers, and try to solve as much as you can. Practice, practice, and practice. You still have time, don't worry.

I also attached some notes, you might want to check out.

Hope I helped, and good luck!:)

Q1. (i) First, arrange the words of the question into an equation.
P(X>1002)=225/900
P(X>1002)=0.25
1- P(X<1002)= 0.75
By using the z-table, when p= 0.75, z= 0.674
So, P(Z<0.674)=0.75

Z=X-mew/s.d
0.674=1002-mew/8
8*0.674=1002-mew
5.392=1002-mew
Therefore, mew = 996.608 ~997

(ii)Now, consider this a normal probability question without replacement.

So, P(2)=225/900 * (224)/(899) * ( 899-224)/898
=3 {225/900 * 224/899 * 675/898}
= 0.140
Finally multiply by 3, because there are 3 ways to arrange getting 1002 twice in three times (3!/2!)

Hope I helped! :)

I think we should discuss S1 in some other thread, no? :p Also, here are all the answers (to my knowledge)

Q1) Volume = 12 pi
Q2) 0.105
Q3) a = +5
Q4) Length CD = 2.5 units.
Q5) 45 and 116.6 degrees.
Q6) I don't remember exactly but I think the perimeter was 45.x (or something like that) and the area was 146 cm^2.
Q7) (i) a = 9 and d = 2, (ii) a = 27
Q8) 1/root(61) * (-5i + 6j)
Q9) A (4,6), B (2,2) and area = 9.33 units
Q10) 0 < k < 64/9

Your answers for the arithmetic progression are correct. However in the geometric progression, a=27

for q6.. I reread and misinterpretef the question, so I crossed out 45... and 146, will they mark my wrong answers? =[
