Q9
thx
momentum b4 collision=momentum after collision
so...... mass of body 1=m
mass of body 2=m
speed of body 1 =v
speed of body 2=0
m x v + m x 0 = 2m x s s is the new speed which we find to find momentum after collision
mv = 2ms
so s=v/m
so momentum after collision = 2m x s where s = v/m
so momentum after collision = 2m x v/m m gets cancelled which leaves with mv
i'll do the ke part and tell u later

You don't need to do that calculation. initial momentum = mv because one body is stationary so final is also = mv. im confused about the ke part since ke is not conserved.

i think K.E is halved because the 2 bodies are of the same masses so the ke splits??

O/N 2002 Q14)
0=50 * x + 100 * 10 - 20 * 60
so x=4 cm away from pivot which is at 40 cm so mark at 44cm

question 14 i'll do and tell
Q13) IS 20 x 3 - 5 x 2 - 10 x 2 =30Nm
negative because they move in opposite direction and it is 10N MULTIPLY BY 2m BECAUSE IT MOVES THROUGH A HEIGHT OF 2m
Q16)IT IS THE INSTANT BETWEEN 2 - 3 SECONDS SO A TRIANGLE IS FORMED WHICH 0.5 X 1 X HEIGHT WHICH IS 30 J SO ANSWER IS 30

mj/05 Q25
you first find lambda using frequency and speed so it is 340/500=0.68m
a wavelength=2pie sooo 0.68 is 2pie then 0.17 = 0.17 x 2pie/0.68 = pie/2

OCT/NOV 2006 Q15)
u find the vertical component which is 10 cos 30 x 2 (x2 because both the sides are exerted by equal forces)=17.3N
subtract this answer from 10 to find the resultant force=7.3N

OCT/NOV 2007 Q25)
d sin theta = n L (L = wavelength)

sin 45 = n x (L/d) = 3 L/d = 0.707. So L/d = .7/3 = 0.23

Since sin theta cannot be greater than 1, n cannot be greater than 1/0.23, which is 4.2...

So the greatest order is 4.

the percentage uncertainty is 1% so uncertainty is 1/100=0.01
so x/1.98=0.01 so x=0.02
x/2.02=0.01 so x=0.02
total uncertainty is 0.02+0.02 =0.04

Frequency: 3000 oscillations in a min, ie, 3000/60sec= 50
now Time period= 1/50= 0.02
and so for time base, as this is for one full wave, divide it by 2, 0.02/2= 0.01
24. C
peak position, particles at rest.
particles leading crest move up.
Hey help me as well.
