3) resolve the left 10 N force into it's component
vertical = 10sin60 = 8.66N
horizontal= 10cos60 = 5 N

Now consider the horizontal forces
find the result of the horizontal forces , since they are in opposite direction we would subtract them
10 - 5 = 5 N

So NOW
we have vertical and horizontal forces so find the overall resultant
R = √ (5)² + (8.66)²
R = 10 N
