Here are some I could find in my old collection... I think there were more somewhere.. dunno.

fix sb with a look, stare, gaze, etc. to look directly at sb for a long time:
*He fixed her with an angry stare.

Light in sb's eyes: an expression in sb's eyes which shows what they are thinking or feeling:
*There was a soft light in her eyes as she looked at him.

the light of sb's life: the person sb loves more than any other

be / go out like a light (informal) to go to sleep very quickly:
*She returned to bed and went out like a light.

bring sth to light to make new information known to people:
*These facts have only just been brought to light.

cast / shed / throw light on sth to make a problem, etc. easier to understand:
*Recent research has thrown new light on the causes of the disease.

see the light (of day) to begin to exist or to become publicly known about:
*He's written a lot of good material that has never seen the light of day.

a light touch the ability to deal with sth in a delicate and relaxed way:
*She handles this difficult subject with a light touch.

be light on to not have enough of sth:
*We seem to be light on fuel.

swoon over someone or something to seem to faint or pass out about someone or something.
* The kids swooned over the rock star like the kids of thirty years ago. Evangeline swooned over the frightful news.

If you are doing (the almost)last minute revision, brushing up on your knowledge about topics included (eg. by reading imp points on them 4rm buks) is more important than brushing up on vocab in my humble opinion... coz I think it takes time to build up a good vocab.. still da idioms may come usefull.
