Dear All,
First of all best of luck for the upcoming P1 paper on 7th may. Hope you all are preparing for the best. In this thread post your every problem related to P1.

Grade thresholds for Paper P1 are usually very high and it requires more and more practice.

I personally need little bit help with functions integrated with trigonometry. On the all other things than this i am perfect and ready to help you.

This one please :D
Hey its easy bro just remember the concept of sin graph
the equation y=asin(bx)+c in every sin graph will mean
a=amplitude , in this case 9-3 =6
b=no of complete wave in 2pie (360 degrees) , in this case 2
c=the mean point where wave is starting , in this case 3
so it becomes
6sin2x+3=y

for the second part put y=0
u will get sin2 inverse = -0.5
ignore - and take sin in the opposite quadrants (2,3 )
now for sin2 inverse 0.5 u get 30
2nd quad
180-30=150

3rd quad
180+30=210

so you have two values 150,210 WAIT , remember it was sin2theota ? , divide it by 2
u get 75 and 105 least is 75 , thats ur answer if u dont understand ask me ,

This has really helped me ...
Listen, umm this rule

Is only for sin curves or can be used for cos also ?

.

.

.
And also the convergent you said was not in the syllabus came last year ! And I guess it's the same syllabus .. So if u can please help me with the convergent thingy

Shafayat sorry bro for late reply , ptcl ki main line
Kat gyi mere ilake me islye i wasn't on the internet
Yes the same applies for the cos curve but a cos curve is kinda different for obvious reasons

This is other timezone is lye me ne kaha out of syllabus convergent means any thing less than original literraly
In maths we take it as less than 1 (<1) in this q it means common ratio is less than 1 (r<1)
Now he says first term is 1 means a=1
Second term is 1/3 tan^2 theota
For finding r u can divide any 2 consecutive terms
So her it goes like this
2nd term /1st term <1
1st term is 1 so it will go like this
1/3 tan^2 theota <1
Tan^2 theota <3
Taking sq root both sides
Tan theota<plus minus under root 3
Finding answers
For plus under root 3
As tan is +ve in 1st and 3rd
60,240
For tan -ve tan is in 2 and 4
120,330
I did this in degrees take tumhe smj aye wrna confuse hojate tum bi aur me bhi :p
Ab hamare pas values hyn 60,120,240,330 lekin usne mangi sirf 1/2 pie tk hyn means 90 degree tak
So we will chose 60 only
Thats pie/3
So it goes
Theota =pie/3
Examiner may penalise for using degreees in a radian question
But i find this easy -_-
Kuch na smj aye to give me
A ring :) 03116116440

Nope :)

Same syllabus- they have different variants to prevent the paper from leaking out. Different time zones and all.
