Focus on the Before Betrayal man.

Ok , but the next question asked a similar thing to what the answer to (a) had been: Hassan was waiting for Amir, Hassan wanted to talk to Amir .
I don't think CIE would have wanted something like that .. Well, I don't know for sure

Cie usually dnt repeat question answers. The 1a and 1b q would hav the same answer according to xain's answer. I'm still convinced that it was ironing and making breakfast ;s. That's cause the first question is always an easy and encouraging question. Cie don't make it tricky.. But I may be wrong

It was written in the passage that after betrayal Amir gets only the folded clothes(that r nt ironed)....before betrayal it was written that he(Hassan) used to iron n then fold the clothes..... :twisted: :twisted:

The passage went in the direction of saying he found his clothes ironed and folded already indicating that the ironing was still being done. That is why, im pretty sure, saying ironing clothes was wrong.
Secondly, the passage showed that he had "a boiled egg and toast" waiting for him when he sat at the table. That is why, breakfast was also being made.

Im pretty sure what was NOT done anymore were matters of intimacy and caring, namely:

1) Hassan no longer waited for Amir before he started ironing
2) Hassan no longer talked to Amir.

Correct The trick was that answer to the second part was at the beginning of the passage and to the first part it was later in the first paragraph.

Well if the question did not say "before the betrayal" then there is no point in saying that they are wrong

Look, my point is this:
There asking what two things Hassan did for Amir did before the betrayal?
If you write
he talked
[ii] he waited for him

then this is a repetition for the second question in a way, your talking about how hassan didn't talk to amir in the second question. It would be almost the same answer, and that NEVER happens.
That's my point.

There's always a first time for everything
For part a, it clearly said that the clothes were ironed and folded and the breakfast was there for him on the table so it could not have been possible to write and ironing and preparing breakfast since he was still doing it.
For part b, I had written that Hassan faithfully used to complete his duties but avoided meeting Amir and expanded it further.

Your answer his 100 percent correct because after betrayal he didnt waited for him and didnt talked with him but he still ironed his clothes and prepared breakfast for him.
