    How was physics p52

the value of E was 35.2 kVm-1, % uncertainty was 8.2%, value of V was 552V and its absolute uncertainty was 81V. These were my calculations. I don't remember the value of gradient, but it had 10^-6.

    How was Biology Paper 42

    For Question 10: (Section B) (a) structure of a chloroplast (7) - biconvex disc - 3-10 um diameter - double, membrane/envelope - internal membrane system - flattened or fluid-filled sacs/thylakoids - arranged in stacks/grana - hold pigments/named pigment - clusters of pigments - (membrane of...

    How was Biology Paper 42

That natural selection question (fish, pools) was repeated. See the mark scheme of O/N/04 Q5. It is an almost identical question. http://papers.xtremepapers.com/CIE/Cambridge%20International%20A%20and%20AS%20Level/Biology%20(9700)/9700_w04_ms_4.pdf

Biology Paper 12 Repeated and New Questions

Can anyone else share their view on the 2nd question of the paper? (the one with the photomicrograph of a leaf) What option did you choose and what is the reasoning? :)

BIOLOGY PAPER 12 | HOW WAS IT?

I also chose option C. I guess it was 'phloem small cells and empty xylem for transport'. option B was 100% incorrect since it mentioned a single layer of epidermis. Most of the candidates are divided between option A and C though. Don't remember option D :P

BIOLOGY PAPER 12 | HOW WAS IT?

usually COPD develops over a long period of time (around 10 years, after you start smoking that is). Therefore, usually the patients are above 30 years of age.

BIOLOGY PAPER 12 | HOW WAS IT?

not all large animals!!! high rate of gaseous exchange depends on activity, and believe me some large animals are far less active than smaller animals, so they would not have a high rate of gas exchange! btw, I also selected statement 2 as correct, but somehow i m still confused :P

BIOLOGY PAPER 12 | HOW WAS IT?

many people are doubtful about statement 2 (1 was correct and 3 was obviously incorrect). I still don't understand how statement could have or could not have related to the need for a transport system. A lot of people selected it as correct and some people did not :P

Biology Paper 12 Repeated and New Questions

I am afraid, I have checked these questions from the mark schemes and the examiner reports, so i have encircled the correct options only! :) please do not confuse other people by saying that i have encircled the wrong options.....

BIOLOGY PAPER 12 | HOW WAS IT?

the second statement was present in all the options (A,B,C and D) so the second statement could not possibly be wrong.

Biology Paper 12 Repeated and New Questions

large surface area to volume ratio means that the surface area is greater and volume is less, so cells requiring substances are not far from the site of absorption or production of those substances, hence no efficicent transport system may be required. It is the small surface area to volume...

Biology Paper 12 Repeated and New Questions

no, it asked why large animals need them. Specifically mentioned large animals.

Biology Paper 12 Repeated and New Questions

But it asked about large animals, did it not? :) So one must understand that not all large animals have high rate of gaseous exchange (those that are less active), so statement 2 did not apply to all large animals, whereas statement 1 did! Therefore, only statement 1 was correct. :)
