    90% for A*..!!!

Actually I think it's more to do with the fact that IGCSE is used more often in countries such as Saudi Arabia, India etc. America has their SAT system and most of UK uses the GCSEs. I mean I havn't gone around but I highly doubt you'll have as much people saying religious things in SAT forums...

    90% for A*..!!!

If it makes you feel better I agree The A* has become preposterously low, and even then if you go to CIE website the sheer lack of people scoring A* in subjects like maths is astounding... My brother got 6 A*, and he was woefully under-prepared when university came along (though thankfully he...

    Grade boundaries?

Hmm Where are you guys getting this value? Starbucks; you said that you should get 91%+ for A* but where does it say these? I've looked at grade thresholds and the A* isn't very hard to achieve (except add. maths. Eeek 92% D:!) But honestly, whether or not you know grade threshold how is that...

    Useful stuff compiled

Correct me if I'm wrong but... I opened the physics formula booklet and mechanical advantage, velocity ratio, the second efficiency formula (MA/VR x100), momentum, centripetal force, impulse, orbital period and (i think) volume expansion aren't in the IGCSE syllabus - and in the pages' footers...

    Chemistry Test of Ions

That's the question which you're talking about. Mark Scheme says: So an answer could be along the lines of: Pour 15cm3 of Hydrogen Peroxide into a conical flask. Add 5g of copper(II) oxide. Every 10 seconds measure the volume of oxygen produced using the gas syringe until no more oxygen is...

    Chemistry Test of Ions

Uh If you check the syllabus, flame tests aren't there (if you use Control+F, the find function, and type in Flame, you won't find any results, and a read through reveals that flame tests don't seem to be included. I know them anyway just in case, but still.) Obviously if they ask, say, to...

Chemistry Paper 6 - Important notes and repeated questions.

Check the syllabus, it's your best option. It has a page which lists everything you need to know about qualitative analysis (flame colours aren't there as far as I've seen) Click Here for the syllabus Go to sec3:43 (I really don't get why they don't just number the syllabuses like everyone...

Chemistry Paper 6 - Important notes and repeated questions.

Sometimes the IG's make no sense to me. Several sources say salts increase the rate of rusting by increasing electrical conductivity and whatnot. I mean, rusting occurs when iron loses electrons right? If the water conducts electricity better then it will conduct at a higher rate I'm not sure...

Some of my answers in MATHEMATICS (0580/42) !!

One of the answers on the question paper 4 is wrong. Question 6 - whoever solved it wrote x-110 instead of x-10 in their calculations, thus distorting the answer. It should be 2x+x+114+x-10=360 4x= 246 x=64 Edit: Didn't want to double post but thought I'd add, stop worrying about exams you've...
