Alright so I don't know if a thread already exists about this topic, but I had a question about the syllabus ._. Have my cie on the 6th, so help will be appreciated ^_^
What part of biotechnology is actually included in the syllabus? :/ Cause that's one long chapter and there's way too much stuff in the book about it i.e vinegar, beer, wine etc, questions about which I've rarely seen in the past papers. And I don't get the syllabus or I would've checked it out myself ._. I mean there's no separate list for the extended syllabus :l

Actually I haven't read that chapter since a long time. Is it the one about Penicillin production and SCP etc. That's important. And Fermentation is important too.

We use the IGCSE Biology book by DG Mackean (hope I spelled it right xD)

That's what I thought, but then a friend told me the left hand side is the core part, and the right hand side is the extended plus core syllabus ._. So that mixes up both things doesn't it? :/ Or did I get the wrong idea? ._.

DG Mackean's book contains an overload of information, from all 5 UK boards as well as further research material.
You need only cover the following topics in the biotechnology chapter (39):
  1. The entire sewage treatment section
  2. The commercial uses of enzymes
  3. Single-cell protein
  4. The production of Penicillin
  5. Bread making
  6. Wine and beer production
  7. Cheese and yogurt production.
