THE QUES WAS TAKEN FROM 2056 PAPERS AND MOULDED A LITTLE BIT

Q: Why do Muslims need to know about the Prophet’s Hadith and his actions
[sunnah]? [10]
• what the Prophet said, did and by what he approved is second in importance to
the Qur’an [1]
• Allah Himself directs Muslims in the Qur’an ‘Say, “Obey Allah and His
Messenger”, but if they turn back Allah does not love those who reject faith’ [3:32];
‘Obey Allah and obey the Prophet’ [64:12] [1]
• Prophet said ‘I leave with you two things. If you hold fast to them both you will
never be misguided: the Book of Allah and my sunnah’ [1]
• Hadith are important sources of explaining teachings of the Qur’an in more detail [1]
• how to pray is stressed in Qur’an but details of how this is done are found in the
Prophet’s words recorded in Hadith [1]
• details of zakat, Hajj and fasting during Ramadan also from the Hadith [1]
• Prophet laid down principles [shariah] regarding every aspect of life: buying,
selling, contracts, leases, inheritance which is all part of his Hadith [1]
• companions of the Prophet remembered and wrote down his sayings, realising
these were a precious source of guidance for Muslims [hence all the Hadith
literature] [1]
• during his lifetime the Prophet asked his companions to make knowledge of his
Hadith widely known but take care nothing was falsely attributed to him [1]
• this was made clear in the Farewell Address ‘He who is present here shall carry
this message to the one who is absent’ [1]
• Muslims turn to the actions [sunnah] of the Prophet to emulate him. By doing this
they hope their actions are acceptable to Allah [1]


^ These are the points but u needed elaboration by giving quotations with examples. Plus u had to mention more benefits.(atleast 1 para). valid points will be accepted. By Allah's grace i wrote 10 out of 12 points given inn the above answer and also mentioned extra points plus quotations aswell. IA i will get full markss... p to the examiner though.

Just as i said, i wrote those points but i added alot of points by my own self which are related to islamic law, source of guidance adn thought and action ... so i didnt completely rely upon them u know... but it is Islamiyat.

this is the outlien of what i wrote:

q2 required reasons... and abt hadis as source of guidance and law + supporting quotations. we couldve written that hadis is 2nd and fills out the Quran,, it tells us how to pray, perfrom zakat,hajj, etc with quotations.,,,, that Quran also directs us to use it... Social life.... then 2nd primary source of law... caliphs used it.. lastly prophet encouraged followers to use their hadis(give quote).. then last para for benefits

In partb, i wrote abt that without compiled hadis,, muslims wont be able to implement isl teachings properly,, that they will be divided and that there would be no distinction betweeen sahih and fabricated hadis,

well.. we all know cie examiners accept valid points made.. even if they arent in the marking scheme... and i didnt completely crammed the 2056 ans... my wording and quotations were entirely different from the ones in the marking scheme like i gave quote that "He who obeys the messenger obeys Allah"[4:80] and that Aisha(RA) called the Prophet's character Quran.. etc.

yup u r right but if we wrote like " muslims should follow the sunnah because prophet himself directed his believers to do so ( quote)" < this is then a valid point as it directly relates to a ques..

in question 2 i gave an introduction mentioning in brief Hadith and their importance. Mentioned that hadith actually explain the teachings of the Quran that are not discussed fully or explained explicitly. also, how the Hadith is related to Ijma and Qiyas in daily life matters (eg. travelling on an aeroplane and exemption from Zakah. and the nulllifing of Wuzu in the case of nailpolish and discussed their importance to a Muslim). Also, how it provides guidance in all aspects for Muslims (gave example of buriel that we should stand up an how this helps to improve relations with non-Muslims and it importance to Muslims). finally discussed the importance of Sunnah in a Muslim's life today. also gave several quotations is that good enough

can get level 4 easily i guess.

Remember first compilers didn,t take authencity of Ahadiths under consideration ........in 240,s and beyong Bukhari and the coming generation conceived the idea of maintaing authencity....consider muawatta of imam malik was not authoritative or imam hanbals....it was not coz they musnads but they were .......u know doubts
However,the authencity may be credited and just may be credited coz compilation did not ensure authentic collection but rather rigorous btw links of transmitters and Ahadiths were the actual "things" tht authenticated them........
I wrote tht 1....felt the need to compile coz could not remain in oral form.....preserved in writing2.....companions would eventually die and no one to transmit new reports and in the better way the companions had...3.....exclusively the property of teachers who had to write them down despite of their amazing memory
4.......owing to vast literature and new issues arising like the expansion in other territories there needed to be guidance and an authoritative collection in one place i.e books so tht authoritative system of law ,final in nature, could be made.this served later muslim scholars like imam abu hanifa,e.t.c
