Q. 7?

it is general chmistry

first u use a mortar and pestle and crush it , to increase surface area.
then u add an acid eg. HCl and the dissolve it
and now copper carbonate react with hydrochloric acid to form copper chloride and CO2 and Water
then copper chloride (think think think) u can use displacement reaction to get copper
as the question said copper is the least reactive metal u can use add metal eg. magnesium(coz it is more reactive)
so react copper chloride with magnesium to form magnesium chloride and copper
and then filter copper through filter funnel and u got the copper

it is easy when u use a little of your knowledge :)

hope u got it :D

Got it! Thank you! I was just wondering why I can't directly react copper carbonate with magnesium. Silly thought, I didn't think :)

Ok i think i got the answer!:
if we halved the concentration for the limiting reactant the product will be halved with slower rate.... if we halved the concentration for the reactant in excess this would give a slower reactin with the same amount of product..... i think it's that way
the first on is correct but about the second one:
if u halve the excess and the excess become a limiting reactant it product will be less and the reaction will be slower
but if u halve the excess and it is still in excess than ur second one is correct :D

Yeah then i think that's it :D Thank you anyways

take 1 nail.
put it in a beaker wid tap water..
see hw much time was required fr d nail 2 rust..
repeat d experiment wid all d other types of water..
keep the volume of water used and size of d beaker constant..
also use identical nails..
compare d results and tell which one of the three is faster..

hope it helped.:D

ohhh he post it :D
(fast source :) )

i think salt water because the factor of rusting is water and oxygen
but there are two other factor which increase the rate of rusting:
1) salt
2) acid

so salt water nail rust faster :D

hope u got it :D

In which sample of water does iron rust the fastest?

Sea water, because it contains salt, which speeds up rusting

Knowledge of which one rusts first isn't necessary, just knowing how to plan the experiment is enough, ie, keeping it a fair test by using the same volumes etc.

well there is 2 things i wanna tell u
if u have an inverted test tube and a container filled with water..being salt water or not it wont differ because water rises leaving the salts anyway if i confused u a little check nov 2007

if we place the iron nails in salt water or freshwater
the one with salt water will rust faster because salt helps the water to ionize faster so increases the rate of rusting

Ahh, sorry man, I didn't read the previous pages.. Thanks for the explanation of the salt anyway, incase it does come..

I hope it goes as well as Physics paper 6, and nowhere near as bad as biology paper 6..

Before the exams started I was more nervous about Bio than Chemistry, but now it's totally changed round :/
